HAVANA Cheap New Balance 574 , Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- The 2nd Parachuting Friendship Cup opened on Tuesday at Cuban resort of Varadero with the participation of athletes from Brazil, Chile, Cuba New Balance 574 Sale , Peru and the United States who will compete in Precision Landing Category.

According to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, the parachuting competition will run until Aug. 15 and is held at the International Parachuting Center (CIP) located in Varadero, the most important Cuban resort New Balance 574 Shoes , 140km east of Havana.

The Varadero CIP was opened in 1993 and offers several recreation plans for tourists such as tandem jump, single jump and others.

GENEVA， March 3 (Xinhua) -- The Swiss Federal council voted on Friday to prohibit the import of seal products into the confederation， with the motion set to take effect on April 1.

This means that as of next month， it will be illegal to import a range of seal-derived products including meat， oil， blubber， organs and fur skins.

The Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) however did indicate that the ruling allows for some exceptions.

"On the one hand， the import of seal products will be permitted if they result from hunts traditionally conducted by Inuit or other indigenous communities，" the Office explained in a written statement.

"These hunts must at the same time contribute to the community's subsistence. On the other hand， travellers may continue to import seal products for personal use，" it added.

JUBA， March 10 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on Friday called for increased efforts to safeguard the health and protection of women and girls amid famine in South Sudan.

The UN agency said both women and girls should have access to life-saving food， health facilities， violence prevention and response services， saying famine is especially tough for women.

"In a country that struggles with one of the world's highest maternal mortality rates， severe hunger due to famine could increase risks during pregnancy and childbirth，" said UNFPA Country Representative Esperance Fundira in a statement issued in Juba.

The famine in South Sudan， borne out of years of war， political instability and drought， now affects more than 100，000 people.

UNFPA said it's increasingly concerned about the health and well-being of people affected by this crisis， and especially pregnant women as their food supplies are cut short.

According to United Nations estimates， in addition to the 100，000 people who already face famine in South Sudan， 1 million more people are on the brink of extreme hunger， including some 33，000 pregnant women. Up to 253，000 women of childbearing age could be harmed by the crisis this year.

"With increases in premature or low-birth-weight babies and severe postpartum bleeding， the process of giving life becomes even more likely to result in death，" Fundira said.

UNFPA also expressed concern that the famine could worsen already existing conflict-related sexual and gender-based violence.

"In the South Sudanese conflict， women and girls are raped， forced into marriage and prostitution to survive. Single women， female-headed households， adolescent girls， elderly women， women with disabilities and children are at particular risk，" Fundira said.

UNFPA plans to raise 2 million U.S. dollars for the health and protection needs of women and girls.

The Fund also requires some 19 million U.S. dollars to support reproductive health and gender based violence interventions under the 2017 South Sudan Humanitarian Response Plan.

After taking New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art by storm for the past few months New Balance 574 Mens , a rare collection of relics from China's first two unified empires, the Qin (221BC-206BC) and Han (206BC-AD220) dynasties, have returned home to go on display at the National Museum of China (NMC) starting from Sunday.

The Met exhibition received more than 160,000 visitors during its first two months, according to a report from art website Art China.

Instead of copying the Met edition New Balance 574 , the NMC exhibition, sponsored by China's Ministry of Culture and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH), is mixing up its presentation and catalogue, the exhibition's curator Shan Yueying told the Global Times on Sunday.
