DOHA, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- African Union (AU) stressed to resolve the Gulf crisis through dialogue and diplomatic efforts, Qatar news agency (QNA) reported on Saturday.
Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mohamed highlighted the position of the African Union towards the crisis, calling for resolving it through dialogue and diplomatic efforts, the report said.
Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud Friday in Addis Ababa briefed Chairperson of the AU Commission on the latest developments in the Gulf crisis, QNA said.
He also expressed Qatar's appreciation of the AU's position to resolve the crisis through constructive dialogue among all parties as well as the AU's support for the mediation led by the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.
The African Union (AU) has released a statement on June 16 expressing concern at the Gulf crisis and called for dialogue to help resolve the impasse.
